Let's do this
Sometimes you need to believe in miracles and sometimes you need to make them happen
While living in India as a successful banker for a financial institute, Dutch founder Laurien Meuter reached out to to support a family she had befriended in Mumbai by paying for their children’s education. One thing led to another and soon more families asked her to do the same for them. A year later, when she had returned to Holland, Laurien was supporting 10 different families. Her experience in Mumbai set something in motion and after being involved in a severe accident she was forced to slow down and reflect on the course of her career. A year later she left her job and founded the foundation.
Her cousin Pepe Heykoop, recently graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven, joined her and set up the business branch of the foundation in order to provide jobs for the women of the Pardeshi community. It was the start of an incredible journey with many valuable learnings. Laurien and Pepe about their mission: “We believe in a better world, and we believe we can actually make this world a better place. For all of us. We believe each and every one of us can make a change, however small that may be. Because tiny changes can lead to miracles. Big miracles, tiny miracles; real miracles. All it takes is to just do something, to roll up our sleeves and make things happen.”
