Current project: embroidery for fashion label ‘The Code’

The Code is a brand new fashion label designing stylish, high quality women’s wear. Based in one of the highest quality factories in India, they employ as many underprivileged people as possible, in collaboration with the factory owner, who also supports the project. The mothers sew a unique code in all their products by hand, one by one. When you type in this unique code on www.thecode.nl, you can see the dedicated and underprivileged craftswoman who worked on your product. The mother who has sewn your code also writes the label in your product by hand, so each one is unique.

Current project: Assembling Leather Lampshades for studio Pepe Heykoop

Dutch designer Pepe Heykoop has launched the ‘Leather Lampshade’. The lampshade is fabricated of soft lambskin leather, whilst its shape refers to old industrial lamps. The Lampshades have been assembled by the mothers supported by the Tiny Miracles Foundation. Next to creating jobs, for every lampshade sold, the equivalent of 1 month of school fees is donated to send their daughters to private English school.
