These girls are already supported by the Tiny Miracles Foundation to attend primary and high school.

Sakshi Ganesh

This is Sakshi. She is 9 years old. She is a funny girl, and puts on about 3 different dresses every day. She plays all the time at the center and loves to dance and sing in front of the camera. Her father does cane work and earns about 25 euro´s per month. Her mother is a housemaid and earns 8 euro’s per month. She lives with 2 other families, 14 people in total, in a small ‘house’ on the pavement. She wants to study for beautician after she finishes school.


Ujala Gopal

This is Ujala. She is 10 years old. She lives with her sister, parents and grandparents in a small house. Loving to run around and play with the boys from the neighborhood, she is a little naughty girl. She lives with her parents and 3 sisters on the pavement in a small ‘house’ made of bricks and cane. Like most fathers of the community, her father makes cane baskets for a living but there is no regular market to sell these, hence he makes about 40 euro’s a month to support his family with.


Nikita Sunil

This is Nikita. She is 14 years old. She lives with her parents, brother and sister. Her sister and she look almost like identical twins, even though her sister is 2 years younger. Nikita is very eager to study. When you explain something to her, she eagerly writes everything down. She also likes to take care of herself, always trying to dress nicely and doing her hair up (and down). In her spare time she likes to go to a close by market with her best friend Priyanka to look at all the bangles they sell there l


Isha Sarju

This is Isha. She is 7 years old. Isha lives with Sakhi’s family and another family in a small ‘house’ on the pavement. Her mother works for us in the Leather Lampshade project, and is very eager to work as she cannot find a job to support her 4 daughters. Isha wants us to come and have chai (tea) at her house every time we are there. An invitation that we cannot resist! She is average at school so we ensure that she gets extra tuition classes a few afternoons per week
.

Darshan Dinesh

This is Darshan. She is 8 years old. Her parents do cane work and earn about 20 euro´s per month. She has been getting better marks since she has joined Tiny Miracles because now she knows that she can finish her school. Darshan loves to play outside on the street with her friends and teach them how to play games. Especially the very young girls. She wants to become a teacher at her own school when she is older.


Sonali Dharmendra

This is Sonali. She is 10 years old. She lives with her sister, parents and grandparents in a small house. She goes to the same school as Darshan, and also thinks she gets better school results now that it is secure that she will finish her school. She loves to make her own jewelry with things she finds on the street. She wants to teach people how to make jewelry when she is older.


Simaran Somnath

This is Simaran. She is 11 years old. She likes to be serious about many things in life. She studies every day after school to make sure she gets the best results. When the doctor comes to Tiny Miracles to check all the girls every month, Simaran always wants to be there to see how he helps the girls. Her biggest dream is to go to university and become a doctor herself when she is finished with school


Karishma Mahesh

This is Karishma. She is 8 years old. Both her parents passed away when she was 4. She lives with her grandmother, aunt, uncle and 3 cousins in a small house. Her aunt and uncle earn about 20 euros per month, so with help of the Tiny Miracles foundation Karishma is able to go to school. In school, she likes drawing the most. She likes to study hard because her biggest dream is to become a police officer in the streets in Mumbai.

Neha Naresh

This is Neha. She is 6 years old. She lives in a small house together with her grandfather, grandmother, both her parents, her aunt and her big brother. With help of the Tiny Miracles Foundation she is able to go to school, got a free uniform, books and education sponsorship. Neha likes to come in centre as there is space to play and a peaceful environment to study. She studies a lot because her dream is to become a doctor in the future so she can help her friends when they need a doctor.


Chetna Chauhan

This is Chetna. She is the first girl supported by Tiny Miracles. She is an only child and lives with her father Mohan, who is employed full time at Tiny Miracles, and her mother Vimla. Chetna is a very happy girl, and loves to perform at school and to become the best in maths. Chetna insisted to dress up in her birthday outfit for this photo.



Sejal Shekar

This is Sejal. She is the youngest of the family and has two older sisters, Deepali and Rutuja. Her sisters are also supported by Tiny Miracles. She loves to go to school and is especially good at gymnastics. When she is at home, she loves to draw flowers, all sizes, shapes and varieties.



Rishita Rani

This is Rishita. She lives with her mother right in the center of Mumbai. She joined school recently after we spoke with her mother. Before going to school she would join her mother when she would go to clean houses in the neighborhood. She has not brothers and sisters.



Purva Subash

This is Purva. She is 5 years old and she lives we her parents and has one older brother. Her father came to us himself to ask for support. Her parents were really worried about not being able to afford any education for her, as they did send her older brother to school. Purva is shy, and she has started to read recently which her parents taught her.



Deepali Shekar

This is Deepali. She is 13 years old and lives with her father, mother and 2 sisters. Her father works at the house we always stay at when we are in Mumbai. Deepali is a quiet and mature girl for her age and enjoys dressing up. She put on her Diwali (Hindu holy festival) clothes especially when we met her a few months ago.



Aditi Shashi

This is Aditi. She is 8 years old. She lives in a clay house together with her grandmother, her parents, her aunt and her little brother. After joining the Tiny Miracles Foundation she learnt to read, write and now has space to play with her friends other children with the same age. She goes to the same school as Neha and they share the same dream in life because Aditi also wants to become a doctor.
